The Oakmont Art Association is the art organization of the Oakmont community, located on Hwy 12 in the Valley of the Moon, California.
The Association has regularly scheduled monthly meetings on the second Friday of each month, except during the summer, (June, July, and August), October and December. Meetings are held in the Berger Center Auditorium and start at 10 am for refreshments and 10:30 am for the program. Programs include art demonstrations by prominent artists and presentations of art related subject matter by docent/speakers from San Francisco Museums.
Bus tours, scheduled throughout the year, take members to major art exhibits featured at Bay Area Museums.
There is a non juried annual Gallery Art Show open to all Oakmont residents and guests. This is held at the Berger Auditorium for two days in October each year. Paintings, jewelry, and other craft items are often for sale as well as viewing.
The Association organizes occasional painting classes and events, and other craft classes as teachers are available. Members artwork hangs in the buildings of the Oakmont Village Association, and is rotated to different sites or replaced, every two months.
Open Studio visits. For two days each May or June, Oakmont artists and craftspeople open their studios to all of Oakmont and their guests. Any interested artists can contact the Association board member listed on the contacts page responsible for Open Studio visits.
We strongly encourage any Oakmont resident with an interest in the arts to become a member by contacting the Membership Board Member listed on the Contacts page. You can send her an email by clicking the button below.
Membership applications may also be picked up from, and returned with payment to, the OAA folder in the OVA office. Dues are $20 per individual. Details of upcoming events and activities are listed in the Oakmont Art Association section of the "Oakmont News".
